Jason Groupp was trained as a fashion, commercial, and wedding photographer and has been photographing professionally for almost 30 years. He will present in an informal discussion style his history as a photographer and how he continues to remain relevant well into his career. Jason will discuss his unique photographic style as well as his use of video and social media to stay relevant in these challenging times in our industry. Sophisticated but instantly accessible, Jason Groupp’s wedding photography celebrates the individuality of every couple he works with. Having honed his style on the streets of Manhattan, Jason instinctively creates a sense of place in every clients photograph. Whether it’s a free-spirited portrait of a newly engaged couple astride a motorcycle or a rare quiet moment shared by a bride and groom against the splashy backdrop of a Las Vegas cityscape, Jason captures the relationship between a couple and their surroundings. Doug Gordon and PPANJ

Doug Gordon goes with the flow.

At PPANJ's Evermay program, Doug Gordon got the party started by encouraging fellow photographers to join in with his performance of Y-M-C-A. (If you could read that without singing it, then you haven't been to enough weddings).

Doug Gordon does have a passion, not for The Village People, but for photography. The seminar quickly moved to outdoors, where Doug demonstrated how to do about a million poses in six minutes or less. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but more importantly, he made sense out of how to fluidly move from one pose to the next.

Doug shows the awesomeness of his Torch Light while posing a candid shot. He proved the usefulness of the tool in multiple lighting situations.

Not many people can get the bride on the ground as fast as Doug. He proved his theory, much to his relief, about grass stains by having his bride scoot her white bottom across the greens. When he had his model lay and put her long legs straight up the wall by the window, he had the attention of the entire Senior/Silver Luncheon inside the windows. An added act to their vocal entertainment.

Central's Shoot Out

On June 14, PPANJ members gathered at Deep Cut Gardens in Matawan for the annual shootout. The weather cooperated and as one photographer said "the sky was like a giant softbox". Except for when the sun came out and then it was dang hot. The park is truly a magical place, full of spectacular locations. Two hours was not nearly enough time to explore all of the visual opportunities.

Central Shoot Out

Central invites all members and photographers to the annual Photo Shoot Out on Monday, June 14, 3 - 5, at Deep Cut Gardens Park, 152 Red Hill Road Middletown, NJ.
Take advantage of the participating models or bring your own. Images MUST be supplied to the volunteer models. In the unfortunate case of rain, the event will take place the following Monday, June 21.

Directions
•Garden State Parkway to Exit 114. Southbound, turn left onto Red Hill Rd; northbound, turn right onto Red Hill Rd. Make right at light to Dwight Road and then left back onto Red Hill Road. Follow Red Hill Rd. (1.5 miles) to Deep Cut. Entrance on right.
•State Hwy 35 Southbound, follow to Kings Highway, turn right. Follow Kings Highway to first traffic light. Turn right onto Red Hill Rd. and continue to Deep Cut entrance on left.
•State Hwy 35 Northbound, make right at the New Monmouth Road jughandle and take back over Hwy 35. New Monmouth Road to stop sign and right onto Kings Highway to traffic light and left onto Red Hill Road. Continue to Deep Cut entrance on left.
